Confucius China Studies Program Ph.D. Fellowships for Int’l Students to Study at XMU

The Confucius Institute Headquarters recently opened their Confucius China Studies Program Ph.D. Fellowships application process for the 2015 entry. The fellowships consist of two subprograms, namely, the “Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship” and “Ph.D. in China Fellowship”. They are currently the most valuable fellowship programs that are available to international students in China. The majority of financial support is provided via the support of specific research and other projects on designated academic areas of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Headquarters will provide each approved awardee with research funds, tutoring fees for foreign and Chinese tutors, tuition, lodging and living expenses, round-trip international transportation, etc.

Xiamen University (XMU) is one of the 15 Chinese host universities (others include Peking University, Renmin University of China, and Fudan University, etc.) that have been designated by the Headquarters. For two consecutive years since 2013, XMU has been hosting the most recipients of the China Studies Plan Program Ph.D. Fellowships among the host universities.

Applicants for the fellowships are required to be doctoral students registered with overseas universities or preeminent postgraduate students, who are proficient in Chinese. They need to complete an online application at http://ccsp.chinese.cn/ before January 31st, 2015 and choose XMU as their host institution. Detailed information about the Fellowships is available at http://admissions.xmu.edu.cn. and http://ccsp.chinese.cn.
With its highly professional faculty, well-established disciplines, first-class facilities, and garden-like campuses, XMU offers a great opportunity for international students and it warmly welcomes international students to study on its beautiful campuses.
