Zifeng Tower, world's seventh highest and the Chinese mainland's second highest building, officially went into service on Dec. 18 at Greenland Square of Nanjing, Zhejiang Province. As of now, a total of six skyscrapers on the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan rank in the top ten highest buildings in the world.

The tower was designed according to the top international norms by SOM, a well-known American designing company, based on the requirements of Greenland Group, which invested in and developed the building.

The 450-meter-high tower stands at the city's center and covers an area of more than 300,000 square meters. It is a comprehensive activity center comprising super five-star hotels, office space as well as and an upscale shopping mall.

Zhang Yuliang, the CEO of Greenland Group, said the construction of the Tower is important action to promote urban construction, advance industrial structure and increase the cooperation between Nanjing and Shanghai.

The Zifeng Tower is the seventh highest building in the world to be built following Dibai Tower, New York World Trade Center, Taipei 101, Shanghai World Financial Center, Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers and Chicago Sears Tower and also the second highest building on the Chinese mainland.
