The Eighth NPU “Cultural Bridge” New Year Party

On the evening of December 30, it was freezing outside but the atmosphere inside Aoxiang Students Center on Changan Campus was warm and joyous. The center was well decorated and seated to its full capacity for the yearly NPU “Cultural Bridge” New Year Party.

The New Year Party lasted for over two hours with various wonderful performances and one climax following another. The program “Herd Men’s New Songs” was cheerful and lively, which was an ensemble of traditional instruments by some Chinese students; the “Cheongsam Show” displayed the elegance and grace of traditional Chinese women’s wear; and the loud and resonant man’s solo “On the high Singanense” made foreign students lost in the delicate and refined Chinese classic arts. Besides, the students from Belgium, South Korea, Peru, Uzbekistan, Pakistan also brought a series of bold and rampant songs and dances like “the Rap”, “Dangerous” etc., which ignited the whole audience’s enthusiasm, the center now being filled with cheering and hilarity for the coming new year.

NPU “Cultural Bridge” New Year Party was set up in 2007, whose form and meaning are increasingly broader as time goes by with more experiences and explorations from the parties in the past. The Party not only encourages the Chinese and international students of NPU who love arts to demonstrate their talents, but also invites the overseas students from other universities in Shaanxi to perform, assisting the grand party. This measure has been warmly welcomed and actively responded to by other universities, and all express the will that they should endeavor to make the New Year Party a grand New Year’s Eve dinner for students home and abroad to share their mutual friendship and to look forward to the future together.
