3 SCUT state-level programs are evaluated and accepted

From March 27 to 28, the mid-term and final evaluation and acceptance conference of key programs (material science and engineering) funded by NSFC (State Natural Science Funds Commission) - Guangdong Joint Fund was held in Liwu Building of Science and Technology in SCUT. More than 40 evaluation experts and program leaders across China have attended the conference.
 
Vice president ZHANG Xichun has pointed out in his speech that SCUT would continue to pay high attention to basic science research as well as the organization of basic science programs. He has also emphasized that SCUT would do better in the declaration of state natural science funds programs to promote more influential achievements.
 
In the conference, the final evaluation and acceptance of 6 key programs funded by NSFC - Guangdong Joint Fund (material science and engineering) in 2009 as well as the mid-term evaluation of another 8 key programs funded in 2011 were conducted. The program leaders have given reports on the fulfillment, innovative features as well as the influence of their programs during the conference. 3 SCUT state-level key programs respectively hosted by Prof. LUO Yuanfang, Prof. YU Qijun and Prof. ZHANG Qinyuan have been evaluated and accepted. After the conference, the NSFC leaders and expert panel visited some program implementation institutions for on-the-spot investigation.
