Chengdu plans to conduct pilot program to let foreign students take work directly after graduation

On August 1st,Chengdu Province has host the third press conference on comprehensive innovation and reform. The conference focused on how to drive the innovation and reform by the good use of the “talents”.

 

Over the past five years, Chengdu has attracted 349 high level talents through the implementation of Chengdu Talents Project with the results of having 1395  intellectual property right and annual sales of near 160 billion RMB.

 

For now, Chengdu is still making adjustment. To attract more talents, Chengdu is planning to make the pilot program to let foreign students take work directly after graduation. Deputy director general Rong Guangyue said that in the past years, foreign students are allowed to take work in Chengdu after they have graduated and had two years working experience in their countries. Now the policy is mainly for those who get master degree in Chengdu’s universities. He promised that within this year the elementary project will be announced.
