Annual Zhongguancun Forum to open soon

The annual meeting of Zhongguancun Forum will be held at Beijing International Hotel on September 25. The theme of this year's annual meeting will beThe Innovative Ecological System for Entrepreneurship: Cooperation•Share•Mutual Development.

The annual meeting will focus on topics such as how to bring government, enterprises, research institutions, and organizations together to put forward the development of an ecological system for entrepreneurship.

Luis Sanz, President of the International Association of Science Parks; Del Christensen, Chief Global Business Officer of the Bay Area Council; Karin Finkelston, Vice President of the World Bank International Finance Corporation; Chen Qingtai, former Secretary and Deputy Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council; Wu Jinglian, researcher of the Development Research Center of the State Council and the Deputy Director of Advisory Committee for State Information; and other scholars and officials will give speeches during the opening ceremony and forum.

Apart from the opening ceremony and forum, other activities, such as four sub-forums and a press conference for the publication of the Zhongguancun index will also be held.

The sub-forums will cover four innovative and major industries. The topics for the four sub-forums will be Big Data Technology Enables Smart Life, Internet Finance: Integration and Development, Crossing Border Speeds up Entrepreneurship, and International Ecological Environment and the Transition of Energetic Technology.

At the Big Data Technology Sub-forum, attendees will discuss the mutual development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province in North China, the construction and management of smart cities, and the sustainable development of a social economy.

The Internet Economy Sub-forum will invite more than ten domestic and global Internet economic institutions and emerging Internet companies to discuss product innovation and marketing strategies in the industry, innovative supervising methods, the importance of small and micro businesses in the industry’s development, and an estimate of next year’s market trends.

Dozens of representatives from Chinese and foreign enterprises and local science parks will attend the Technology Transition Sub-forum. Important attendees including David Conover, Director of Advanced Energy Research and Technology at Center Stony Brook University, will give speeches at the sub-forum. Enterprises from the US, Germany, Great Britain, South Korea will communicate with Chinese corporations in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province to integrate global innovative resources and promote international cooperation.

The Zhongguancun Index press conference will release the statistics of Zhongguancun’s development in 2013 and the first half of 2014. 2013 witnessed a steady yet rapid development of Zhongguancun demonstration area. The total income from hi-tech industry passed 3 trillion yuan ($490 billion). Both income and profit increased more than 20 percent year on year.

The success of Zhongguancun Science Park served to help Beijing’s construction of a high-grade, high-precision, and advanced economy structure, as well as China’s establishment of an innovative nation. Integration, open, enthusiasm, and high end became the keywords of Zhongguancun’s innovative development in 2013.
