Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU, formerly ZIST) is a prestigious university in Zhejiang province，China with distinctive features and individual advantages. It provides programs in fields of science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, management and law with engineering being its main focus. ZSTU is located in the “International Garden City” Hangzhou, a city renowned for its history, culture and economical performance. It stems from the Sericultural Academy founded in 1897, and now has a history of 110 odd years. It was named Zhejiang Institute of Silk Textile, Zhejiang Institute of Science and Technology at different stages and since May 2004, approved by the Ministry of Education, its name has been changed into Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (Pinyin:Zhejiang Ligong Daxue).

ZSTU consists of 17 colleges (departments) and offers 51 Bachelor’s degree programs, 30 Master’s degree programs and 2 Doctoral degree programs. Now, ZSTU has a total of 24, 000 full-time students, including 1600 postgraduate students.

ZSTU employs a high-level faculty and staff of 1, 750, with 550 associate professors, 175 professors. In recent 5 years, ZSTU has won over 170 research awards, among which 7 are national, namely, 4 second prizes of the National Scientific and Technological Invention Award, 2 second prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, 1 prize of Luxun Literature Award and over 70 are of provincial or ministerial level.
