Wuyi University (WYU) is a full-time comprehensive university which is situated in Jiangmen City (a well-known hometown of the overseas Chinese) of Guangdong Province in the Pearl River Delta. It occupies a land area of 1000 mu (around 67 hectares). At present, the university has Management School and Information School and 16 specialized departments with 31 undergraduate programs, including Textile and Apparel Department, Chemistry and Environment Engineering Department, Mechanics and Electricity Department, Mathematics and Physics Department, Chinese Language and Literature Department, Foreign Languages and Literature Department, Civil Engineering Department, Department of Politics and Law, etc. It offers 13 Masters degree programs in the following areas: Signal and Information Processing, Pattern Recognition and Intelligence System, Systems Engineering, Communication and Information System, Textile Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Business Management, Computer Application Technology, Traffic Information Engineering and Control, Applied Mathematics, Applied Chemistry, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, Mechanical Design and Theory. Now WYU has over 10,000 students. Approved by the State Education Commission to be one of the first schools to accept foreign students, WYU has well designed both long-term programs and short-term programs of Chinese Language and Culture that are very well received by the international students.
