Liaocheng University (LU)

Liaocheng University (LU) is located in the city of Liaocheng, the “Water City North of the Yangtze River,” a famous historical and cultural city in western Shandong Province. The Grand Beijing-Hangzhou Canal runs through it, and the city is conveniently located, with the Jinan Airport about a one-hour drive away, and Beijing about three hours away by train.

LU is a comprehensive university under the direct supervision of the provincial government. Founded in 1974 as the Liaocheng Branch of Shandong Teachers’ College, it was renamed Liaocheng Teachers’ College in 1981. In 2002, because of its fast development, its name was changed again to Liaocheng University under the official authorization of the State Ministry of Education. The two campuses of LU occupy 200 hectares and contain 1.2 million square meters of buildings. LU possesses teaching equipment valued at RMB 213 million and a collection of over 3 million books in two main libraries.

Liaocheng University awards both bachelors and masters degrees across a comprehensive category of disciplines. It is also qualified to conduct adult education .
