Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics is under a dual leadership of both Jiangxi Provincial Education Commission and the Ministry of Finance of China. It was founded in 1923 and has been a comprehensive institution of higher learning focusing on economics and management. It also includes disciplines in law, engineering, humanity, and natural science，agriculture, education, philosophy, history etc.
The university has 23 schools: School of Administration, School of Public Administration, School of Finance, School of Accounting, School of Information Management, School of International Economy and Trade, School of Foreign Languages, School of Electronics, School of Physical Education, School of Economics, School of Law, School of Statistics, School of Tourism, School of Art and Communication, School of Humanities, International School, School of Resource and Environmental Management, School of Software, School of Modern Business Administration, School of Vocational and Technological Education, School of Adult-Education, School of Managerial Cadre Training, School of International Business, School of MBA and School of Postgraduate; The Research Institute of Economics and Social Development and The Research Centre of Industrial and Governmental Policies.
The University has established 51 undergraduate programs and 52 master degree programs, 3 MBA programs (on Administration,Law and Public Administration); 6 doctoral degree programs and 1 post-doctoral program.
The University is entitled to enroll its students all over China and currently has a total body of more than 36,000 students, among which 26,000 are full-time students, including doctoral students, postgraduates and overseas students, and 10,000 adult-education students.
The University has a teaching staff of more than 2000, among which about 400 are either associate professors or full professors, and 340 are either master or doctoral supervisors;
Globalization of higher education and academic activities has been one of the goals for the university’s development in coming years. It conducts MBA and other academic programs actively and has established intercollegiate relationships with more than 65 related higher institutions in 14 countries, such as an MBA program with New York Institute of Technology in America, an MPA program with University of South Australia; and exchange programs with Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in Austria, University of Oulu in Finland, Amsterdam School of Economics and Business in Holland and the Berlin Universities of Applies Sciences in Germany; and the study-abroad programs with Lancaster University, Southampton University, Coventry University and University of Salford in UK, University of South Australia, and Massy University in New Zealand, Sogang University in South Korea. Each year more than 100 students are sent to our partner institutions for the exchange and study-abroad programs; meanwhile around 40 overseas students have been enrolled from all over the world since 1996.
