Founded in 1936, BUCEA is a engineering university of higher learning under the direct supervision of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. Through six decades of development and growth, it has cultivated 40-thousand construction talents at all levels. BUCEA is the important cultivating base of senior technical and administrative talents for Beijing civil engineering and architecture. In November 1999, it passed the regular college course evaluation of engineering instruction of higher learning hold by the Ministry of Education.
BUCEA is located in the Exhibition Hall Road (Zhanlanguan Road). Near the Second Ring Road, surroundings are beautiful and transportation is very convenient. Occupying an area of 133 thousand square meters, BUCEA has a library, which provides 460 thousand volumes and 1000 kinds of foreign and national magazine. The university has established local area network on campus, which provides a modern technical platform for teaching, science researching and administration. It is one of the “civil campus ”denominated by Beijing Municipal Government.
BUCEA has 10 schools and 1 ministries, containing 22 undergraduate specialties, 17 specialties are authorized to confer degree of master. BUCEA boasts of a teaching staff of 871, among whom there are 426 full-time teachers, 35 professors, 212 associate professors.
