Founded in 1980, Beijing Wuzi University (BWU) is a municipal university in Beijing characterized in logistics and transportation. It covers economics, management, science and art, law and other courses. Affiliated to State Bureau of Materials, Ministry of Materials and Ministry of Internal Trade successively, it has been under the leadership of the Beijing Municipal Government since Oct, 1998.
At source of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Beijing Wuzi University has the benefit of being located in the center of Tongzhou International New City. It enjoys a great fame with profound culture foundation and beautiful campus scenery. The university occupies an area of nearly 600 acres, encompassing a floor space of one hundred ninety thousand square meters. BWU has excellent facilities for teaching, learning, sports, arts and leisure.
At present, BWU has almost 700 staff members, and the number of full-time teachers is 390, including 46 professors and 146 associate professors. 35.9% of them have got doctoral degree. Around 8,000 students make up the University’s vibrant life, including 5935 undergraduates, 604 postgraduates and some international students. The native students come from 28 provinces, municipalities or autonomous regions. In the past thirty years, a large number of professional talents have graduated from the university. They enjoy excellent reputation in the society, especially in the field of logistics, securities and futures.
Beijing Wuzi University is the first university in China to set up the programs of Futures (Finance), Logistics Management and Procurement Management. Now BWU consists of 6 schools which include: School of Economics, School of Logistics, School of Information, School of Business, School of Labor Science and Law, School of Foreign Languages and Cultures. On top of that, BWU includes International School and School of Continuing Education as well. For the time being, BWU offers 26 programs for undergraduates, it also has 4 first-grade disciplines that confer Master’s degree (in Applied Economics, Management of Science and Engineering, Administrative Management, Computer Science and Technology) and 20 second-grade disciplines conferring Master’s degree. It also confers Master’s degrees in Engineering and Business Administration (MBA). Besides, it has 2 municipal key disciplines.
BWU has a series of national and municipal platform for logistics research, education and training, such as logistics talent-fostering mode innovative zone at ministerial level, municipal key laboratory of logistics system and technology, municipal experimental teaching center of logistics system and technology, modern logistics research base and municipal logistics engineering center. To build a high-level characteristic university, restructure and revitalize national logistics, BWU has got 18 projects related to national logistics and distribution such as the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National Natural Science Fund and the National Social Science Fund. It has made considerable achievements in the modern research of logistics and distribution.
Now BWU attaches much importance to scientific research and application to make a contribution to the society. It has established Research Institute of Modern Logistics Industry, Southern Institute of Logistics and Engineering Technology Research Center. By integrating the superior resources in the society, BWU has developed a lot of cooperation with the society. It has also promoted “the top five cooperation” with Zhongguancun national Innovative pilot area, Tongzhou District Government, China Logistics and Purchasing Union, National Business System and the Securities and Futures.
Cultural exchange and communicative cooperation is a very important component to BWU. It has established a good relationship with 23 universities and research institutes in 11 countries and regions including: USA, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, Japan and Korea. A series of cooperation has been developed in research projects, cooperative managing, student and teacher exchanging, and professional development. In doing so, BWU has promoted the development of teaching and research, and the discipline construction as well, and has strengthened the international influence.
For over 30 years, BWU has taken the opportunity to explore innovations and scientific development under the right direction as well as the support of people from all walks of life. Now BWU has established a training base for highly-qualified logistics talents, Logistics Center for Theoretical Study, Logistics Policy and Decision-making Consulting Center and Capital Logistics Application Research Centre. BWU is exerting itself to the fullest extent to make itself a high-level university with distinctive features.
Campus Life
Beijing Wuzi University is located at 20 kilometers east away from center of Beijing and at the headwaters of ancient canal which is well-now in china. It is near the exit of Jingtong speedway, so it is convenient. The campus has elegant environment and fresh air. The university has complete study and living establishments like teaching building, office building, library, student mansions etc. There are complete sports sites like standard plastic raceway and ground track field, racket court, basketball court, volleyball court, gymnasium etc. to provide students with ideal ascendant study and living environment. Mansions for foreign students has communal kitchen, parlor, electronic reading room and various gymnastic facilities etc. Foreign students can cook in the kitchen and can repast in the students' dining hall. The fee is about 20~45 Yuan p.a. each person. There are telephones, televisions, internet interface, air conditions, desks, bureaus, independent toilets and shower in the housing provided by The university. Tenement outside the school charges about 500RMB a living room.
Scholarship
"Beijing Materials Institute Foreign Student Scholarship" (hereinafter referred to as "scholarship") ,the funding source is the Beijing Municipal Government.
Object and duration
The outstanding students of the degree, the term is normally no more than 4 academic years;
To learn Chinese language or Senior Scholar for a period not more than one academic year
Specialized training of outstanding students, scholars for a period not exceeding one academic year.
Inter-school exchanges or special contribution to the students for a period not more than one academic year.
Type of scholarship
The scholarship for tuition awards, scholarships for differences in students charges divided into the following:
A full scholarship: free tuition and accommodation (accommodation by the Beijing Institute of Materials ancillary relief).
The first-class scholarship: free tuition;
The Second Scholarship: free half of the tuition fees;
Applicant's qualifications
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health;
The applicant's educational background and age:
To apply for admission to a bachelor's degree, must have a high school degree or above, the age of the principle of not more than 30 years of age; master's degree must have graduated from college degree or above, the principle of age not more than 35 years of age
To apply for education professionals, must have the equivalent of a college graduate degree or for at least two years school students, aged principle of not more than 50 years of age;
To apply for language learning long-term health, should have a high school education, not be older than 55 years old.
To apply for research visitors must have a master's degree in education or associate professors, the Age in principle not more than 50 years of age.
The applicant's language proficiency requirements
To apply for admission to a bachelor's degree, in principle, requires HSK proficiency test in the four and above;
To apply for a master's degree, in principle, requires HSK proficiency test in the 5 and above;
To apply for application language education learners, in principle, to do the language proficiency requirements.

Notes:
1.Short-term Chinese Language Learners must pay their total tuition fees 5 days after they begin their class. The students studying in other programs should pay the tuition fee and accommodation fee of not less than one semester after they start their study in BWU. After the students finish their studies, they should pay off the rents 3 days before they return home.
2.The application processing fee is non refundable. It can either be sent to the International Education Exchange Center directly or be paid together with tuition fee and accommodation fee after registration.
3.There are 18 weeks of class in each semester. The applicant can audit the class for two weeks. The two-week tuition fee will be deducted from the total if the applicant at last decides to quit the study. If the audit exceeds two weeks, the total tuition fee won’t be returned back.
4.The teaching materials fee will be charged in advance according to the above table. Based on the actual fee, any overpayment will be refunded and any deficiency needs a supplemental payment.
5. All expenses in connection with physical examination will be paid by the applicants themselves.
6. Insurance Issue: If the applicants have already bought international health insurance plan in their home country, they should submit the related verification when attending class officially. Those who do not have the overseas insurance should go through the formalities of joining in Accidental Injury Insurance and Hospitalization Medical Insurance plans when registration. The insurance premium is ¥600 per year, which will be paid by the students themselves.
