North China Institute of Science and Technology (NCIST) is the only one public university affiliated to the State Administration of Work Safety (the State Administration of Coal Mine Safety), NCIST used to be the branch school of Beijing Coal Management Institute at Yanjiao (BSBCMI) and was founded in 1984. In 1993,BSBCMI was transformed into North China Mining College (NCMC) with the approval of former State Education Commission. In 1997, former State Education Commission confirmed NCMC as one of the key institutions of higher education. And early in 2002, North China Mining College was upgraded into North China Institute of Science and Technology.

Located in the east of Beijing----Yanjiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, NCIST is only 35 km away from Tian'anmen Square, and 24 km from Beijing Capital Airport. No. 930 bus passes NCIST and provides a convenience to the university.

     The school values a student the training and the development of the mind and body health very. Recent three years, student's athletics in our school tests healthily of the qualified rate distinguish to 99.9%, 99.9%, 99.8%. All the people's body-building opens extensively, and the college acquires the title of advanced unit of the national coal industry- “Million Workers Do Body-building”. Our college got good result in Hebei university student's sports games; in 12 th Hebei university student's sport games, our college acquired the second place in group scores, first place in man's group, man's basketball's champion, man's volleyball's second place, woman's volleyball in the third place, woman group in the sixth place; in the 13th Hebei university student's sports games in 2004, our college acquired the first place in group scores, and get an athletics morals vogue prize; in the 14th Hebei university student's sports games in 2005, our college acquired men and women's basketball champion, man's volleyball champion, the woman's volleyball second prize, and the aerobics game champion. And at the same time, our college still pays much attention to the mental health education and the physiology hygiene education of students, establishes” university student mental health instruction center", sets up” university student mental health education" elective course and organizes more than 11,000 students to attend the mental health test. Students' Union   Students' Association   The NCIST Students' Association was founded in 2002.It consists of 26 divisions...   Students' Performing Arts Club   Students' Sports Teams   There are many sports teams at the NCIST, including men's soccer, basketball and volleyball teams, track and field, martial arts,gymnastics and table tennis teams. The gymnastics teams are high-level sports teams, which have won the gold medal in HeBei College Sports Games for many years.

Psychologic Health Counseling Centre for College Students

In the spirit of "making optimal health by yourself ,taking care of others". "adjusting your mood ,help others and yourself ".the center has popularized various knowlege about mental health among students ,by offering optional classes ,giving lectures,couseling ,the network and papers ,which has already built a bridge for students` spiritual communicating.There are 3 proffessional and part time teachers available to offer counseling sevices to all the students all day long from Tuesday to Thursday , in the center.   The Students' Union of Psychological Health is directed by the counseling center.It aims to improve students'psychological qualities, consummate and develop their personalities and build up the proper concept of health in mind .The hotline has already been started and ready for students' counseling service.
