Northwest A&F University is a national key university directly under the jurisdiction of Chinese Ministry of Education. The university is located in Yangling Demonstration Zone of Agricultural Hi-tech Industries, a famous agricultural town, 80 km west of Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi Province. Northwest A&F University is a comprehensive university with well-developed programs in agriculture, forestry and water resources. The university is strong in disciplines of dryland agriculture, pedology, crop genetics and breeding, animal genetics and breeding, agricultural economics and management, agricultural entomology and pest integrated management, agricultural water and soil engineering, plant pathology, clinical vet. It has 17 colleges (departments) with 59 undergraduate programs, 105 master’s programs, 71 doctoral programs and 8 post-doctoral programs. It has more than 20,000 undergraduates and about 5,000 postgraduate.

Northwest A&F University is one of the universities in China qualified to accept international students and Chinese Government Scholarship sponsored students. The students with outstanding academic records may apply for the university scholarship.

Language Programs:

Program duration: 4-week, 8-week, 12-week, one semester or more
Class arrangements: There are 20 teaching classes each week from Monday to Friday
Fall Semester: From September to January
Spring Semester: From March to July
Major courses: Reading, Oral Chinese, Listening comprehension, Writing, and etc.
Field trip and cultural activities: Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi visit, Xi'an city tour and cultural activities is organized each semester.
Eligibility: Applicants should have high school diploma or higher schooling degrees.

Visit Students Programs：

Program duration: One semester or more
Eligibility: Applicants should have high school diploma or higher schooling degrees.
Documents required: application form; highest educational diploma, personal statement (research plan), resume; financial statement, copy of passport
Deadline for application: there is no deadline. The applicants may apply at anytime

In order to encourage international students studying at the university, and create its brand to cultivate international talents, combining the present situation, Northwest A&F University sets up the scholarship to encourage the international students who study for degree with outstanding academic achievements, including undergraduates and graduate students.

Scholarship for Excellent International Students
1. For Undergraduates: 3,200 RMB Yuan/year/person
2. For Master’s degree students: 4,000 RMB Yuan/year/person
3. For Doctoral degree students: 4,800 RMB Yuan/year/person

Evaluating Conditions of the Scholarship
1. Be qualified for the scholarship by study at the university for at least one academic year, and take all the examinations of the courses with over 70 scores per curriculum;
2. Observe the laws and statutes of the Chinese government; obey all the provisions, regulations and procedures contained in NWAFU Rules;
3. Respect the faculty and staff; respect their fellow students and cultivate friendship between each other; participate in activities held by the university.

Evaluating Process of the Scholarship
1. The applicant must fill out the Application Form for University Scholarship for and by him/herself. After verifying, he/she will be qualified for application.
2. The awarding of this scholarship is based on the judgment of the scholarship committee composed of the heads of related colleges and divisions by researching and commenting the materials of the applicants. And then Office of International Cooperation and Exchange will inform the award-winning applicants in written form.

The regulation comes into force from the date it issued.

Eligibility:

For undergraduate study, the applicants should have a high school diploma or above；for master's degree program, the applicants should have a bachelor degree or above; for doctoral degree program, a certificate of master degree is needed.
Those who apply for programs in Chinese should pass the HSK Examinations (Chinese Level Examinations) (can get training in NWAFU); those who apply for programs in English (some Master grog rams and doctoral programs) should demonstrate proficiency in the English language. An applicant, whose primary language in not English, must achieve a minimum score of 550 on TOEFL (the Test of English as a Foreign Language) or 6.0 on IELTS (the International English Language Testing System
