University Profile
Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(AHUTCM) is a multidisciplinary higher institution with traditional Chinese medicine science as its focus; it also touches the fields of technology, engineering, management and economics. The University has become a major base for the higher education of traditional Chinese medicine, medical service and scientific research in Anhui province.
Since 1996,when the University was authorized to enroll international students, and 1997, when to enroll the students from the districts of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, there have been hundreds of overseas students from dozens of countries and regions having studied at the University. In 2004, six Singaporean students at the University successfully passed the dissertation defenses for and was awarded a Master’s degree. At present, nearly a hundred international students and those from the districts of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are pursuing their Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree here. There are also many international students coming for their clinical observations and internships each year. Through ten years’ practice of international cooperation and education, the University has accumulated abundant experience in international exchanges and education. Gradually a competitive faculty which is professional at educating international students has formed.The University also created a sound campus service system and a high-efficient school administration for the students. As a result, more and more international students and visitors are attracted to come here from the entire world. The University has become an important base for the international exchanges and education in Anhui, even in whole China.

Applicant Qualifications
Admission Requirements
Undergraduate:
A. Qualification: At least senior high school graduate (fulfilling the minimum high school graduation requirement) or equivalent education.
B. Applying Documents: Transcripts of the most advanced studies; Diploma of the most advanced studies; Passport; Application Form.
Postgraduate:
A. Qualification: At least successful completion of a bachelor’s degree program (Medicine) or equivalent education.
B. Applying Documents: Transcripts of the most advanced studies; Diploma of the most advanced studies; Two letters of recommendation (from professors or associate professors); Passport; Application Form.
Ordinary Advanced Study:
A. Qualification: At least successful completion of a bachelor’s degree program (Medicine or not) or equivalent education.
B. Applying Documents: Transcripts of the most advanced studies; Diploma of the most advanced studies; The certificate of medical working experiences; Statement of Purpose; Passport; Application Form
Senior Advanced Study:
A. Qualification: At least successful completion of a master’s degree program (Medicine or not) or equivalent education.
B. Applying Documents: Transcripts of the most advanced studies; Diploma of the most advanced studies; The certificate of medical working experiences; Statement of Purpose ; Passport; Application Form
Clinical Practice:
A. Qualification: Any one who possesses an inclination to Traditional Chinese Medicine (At least apply for two weeks’ clinical internship and observation).
B. Applying Documents: Passport; Application Form.
Note: If an applicant chooses Chinese as the teaching media, he or she should attend Chinese proficiency test-HSK Test for the international students. The undergraduates should pass HSK Test (Band 6), and the postgraduates, HSK Test (Band 8); the applicants who have not passed the Test can be enrolled as the language students at first. After the language study, if they have passed it, they can be registered as regular students and the school report will be taken into account.

Accommodation
1. Overseas students can stay in the ShengYuan Hotel (foreign students’ accommodation center on campus): equipped with air-conditioner, color TV, telephone and bathroom, and also provides Internet access, room-cleaning service and 24-hours hot water supply. Accommodation fees are shown in the following table:

Note: The group beyond 10 people including 10 will be given 20% discount.
2.Overseas students can also rent their own apartments. According to the current price, an apartment (60 square meters, double bedrooms and one guestroom) with kitchen, washing room, living necessities such as air-conditioner, color TV, telephone service and so on) would cost 1000RMB monthly in downtown area and about 300~700RMB in the suburb. As the University is in the center of Hefei city which is a middle-sized city, even if living in the suburb, it would not take 30 minutes to the campus by bicycle.
Medical Insurance
Overseas students whose study time exceeds 6 months should purchase a medical insurance in China before their registration in our University.
