Master’s Degree Programs
Applicants for any master’s degree program must hold a bachelor’s degree.
Applicants for the science programs should have passed the HSK test (Grade Three), applicants for the liberal art programs except the Chinese language programs) should have passed the HSK test (Grade Four),and the applicants for the Chinese language programs should have passed the HSK test (Grade Six). Besides, each applicant shall have to pass the entrance exam of the related program. The following are the master’s degree programs that YUN offers to international applicants:

Language and Culture Certificate Programs
There is no nationality, diploma or degree requirement for applicants for Chinese certificate programs except one for age, which is from 18 to 60. Durations of study for the programs may vary from 4 weeks to 3 years. Either individual or group applications are accepted. A student will be arranged into Primary Level Class, Intermediate Level Class or Advanced Level Class according to his or her Chinese proficiency or preference. Advanced certificate students (who intend to study Chinese at a high level and study a language of an ethnic minority for more than ten hours a week) will have the privilege to choose his or her courses and the time to start the program. The university can also make special arrangements of the courses and time for those who wish to study mathematics, physics, chemistry and English.

Cultural Studies and Fieldwork Programs
In addition to classroom teaching, the university also offers Lectures about Chinese traditional culture and cultural study tours for students attending the Cultural Studies and Fieldwork Program.
1. Winter Holiday Chinese Program
(1) Duration: January 25 to February 15 every year
(2) Course hours: 50 hours for Chinese courses and 5 hours for elective courses (10 hours provided)
(3) Elective courses: Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Martial Arts, Chinese Paintings, Chinese Religions, Chinese Go, Ethnic Sports of Yunnan, Ethnic Costumes of Yunnan, Ethnic Dances of Yunnan, the Bai Culture, the Dongba Culture
(4) Cultural study tour (10 days):
Kunming: Stone Forest, West Hill Forest Park, Yunnan Nationalities Villages, Yunnan Ethnic
Museum, Chenggong Flower Market

(3) Elective courses: Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Martial Arts, Chinese Paintings, History of China, Geography of China, Chinese Chess, Chinese Go, Ethnic Sports of Yunnan, Ethnic Costumes of Yunnan, Ethnic Dances of Yunnan, the Bai Culture, the Dongba Culture
(4) Cultural study tour (12 days):

(4) Cultural study tour (20 days): Students are required to write an essay in Chinese about their findings during the tour.
