Applicant Qualifications
Entry Requirements
Applicants must in general demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement, adequate Chinese language proficiency, and the ability to finance your education so that they can take full advantage of GDOU’s educational opportunities and contribute to the community. Specific requirements, however, largely depend upon the individual application for the program to participate in.
Chinese Language Requirements
For degree programs, applicants whose native language is not Chinese must demonstrate their Chinese language proficiency by achieving a certificate of HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or Chinese Language Proficiency Tests). A certificate of HSK Level 4 (at least a Level 3) is required for admission to a bachelor’s program, and a Level 6 certificate for a master’s program. Candidates who have successfully completed two years of full-time study in which the language of instruction was Chinese and the study has been undertaken no more than two years prior to the date of offer of a place at GDOU may satisfy the Chinese requirement by providing a corresponding certificate or statement issued by the Registrar’s office of that institution.
Academic Requirements
Applicants for undergraduate bachelor’s degree programs are required to have successfully completed their secondary education and received the senior high school diplomas issued by their schools. Applicants for postgraduate master’s degree programs should be college graduates with a bachelor’s degree, and those for a doctoral program should bear a master’s degree. Applicants for non-degree programs are not specifically required academically.
Financial Requirements
All applicants must guarantee the ability to finance their schooling and living at GDOU. To be considered for admission, you must submit a notarized letter of financial support with the signature of your legal guardian or employer. Following is a simplified list of fees and costs for your reference while making a careful budget for your chosen program.
