The College is now encouraging more overseas students from all over the world to study or carry on international exchange.

The advantages of studying in LCVC
A. Low cost for study

(1) Low tuition fees: Tuition costs are 20% to 50% lower than in other colleges in China.

(2) Low accommodation fee

(3) Inexpensive cost of living
Students can use the IC card to have meals in all the canteens in the College. The average daily expense on meals is about 15-20 RMB. The monthly cost of living is about 500-600 RMB, which is much lower than in other cities in China.

B. Flexible and unique teaching mode

(1) Chinese Language Study
LCVC used to be a teacher training school. Now it is also the Training Base and Grades Test Center of Putong hua (Mandarin) in Liuzhou. Its excellent Chinese language teachers are the guarantee for overseas students’ Chinese language learning. To achieve the best teaching results, the College arranges classes flexibly according to the circumstances of the overseas students:

(i)In accordance with different Chinese language levels, the College will assign overseas students to the Beginners Class, Intermediate Class or Advanced Class. Students will attend the courses listed in the curriculum of their assigned level as shown below with 20 classes per week. In addition, students can choose optional courses according to personal interests, such as calligraphy, paper-cut, Chinese dance, music, English, Chinese Kongfu, tourism, Chinese tea art, etc.

(ii) According to overseas students’ needs, the college will assign them to an Individual or Group learning class, whichever is most beneficial for them.
a. Individual learning (3 or fewer in number): students can enjoy individual attention from the teachers.
b. Group learning (4 or more in number) : students can enjoy both the social benefits of learning with partners and the lowest Chinese language tuition fees in China —7800RMB per year.

(2) Vocational Diplomas
In 2007, Liuzhou No.3 Secondary Vocational School, Liuzhou Economic Management Cadre School and Liuzhou Radio & Television University were amalgamated into LCVC, which greatly enriched and developed LCVC’s vocational education. Currently (2009) more than 30 vocational college diploma programs of three years’ duration are available. Overseas students can choose any of the specialties according to their interests, for which they will have lessons together with Chinese students. Pursuing a diploma while learning Chinese will assist overseas students to have better careers in the future. C. Ideal Chinese language learning environment for overseas students

Compared to larger cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, Putonghua (Mandarin) is more widely used in Liuzhou. Since Putonghua is the main language for students to communicate here, by choosing LCVC, the overseas students will be offered an effective Chinese language learning environment, and usually can speak simple Chinese in 3 months, speak Chinese fluently in half a year and communicate in Chinese freely in a year. What’s more, Liuzhou has a very rich culture to offer, and by experiencing its national, regional and historical aspects, students will enhance their understanding of China and its character.
