Inner Mongolia University for the Nationalities, which is founded in 1958, is the sole Integrity University for the Nationalities in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and featured with regionalism and national characteristics. This University is situated in Tongliao, a city known as the “Pearl in the Grassland” in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Tongliao has traffic facilities. It converges 6 railways and 8 highways with JilinProvince connected in the east of the city and LiaoningProvince bordered on the south of it. The scheduled flight can reach some metropolises such as Beijing, Huhot and Shanghai directly. It takes us 10 hours to go to Beijing by train and 50 minutes by plane with $15 for railway ticket and $50 for air ticket. It is 680km far away from Beijing, 270km away from Shenyang, 310km away from Changchun and 700km from Dalian.

The university occupies a land of 1.552 million square meters and the constructed building area is about 5 hundred thousand square meters. There are 1739 workers and staff members in the University. Over 1056 of them are full-time teachers including 483 professors and associate professors. The university has a batch of foregoer who is affected on the field of Mongolian, Mongolian medicine and Theoretical Physics in the world. There are 97 tutors who are full-time or part-time to teach Doctors and Masters, 29 of whom are experts enjoying special allowance provided by the autonomous government and the State Council. 18 people are selected as members of the “321 project” of the Autonomous, enjoying first-class and second-class treatment. Among the teaching staff, over 570 have obtained Doctor’s degree and Master’s degree. There are 17940 undergraduates and junior college graduates, 481 postgraduates, 310 foreign students and over 16700registered adult students in the University.

There are 22 colleges and 1 teaching and research section . 22 colleges Include: Humanities, Politics and Law and History, Educational Science, International Exchange, Mathematics and Computer, Physics and Electro mechanics, Chemistry, Mongolian Medicine, Clinic Medicine, Agriculture, Animal, Mongolian, Physical Sports, Foreign Language, Arts, Adult Education, life Science, Mechanical Engineering, Economic Management and Vocational Technology. It also has a library, an analysis and test centre, a net-centre, an editorial department of journal a rear service company and 2 hospitals attached to it. Its scientific research institution consists of 11institutes: World History, Horqin Culture, Condensed State Physics, Computational Physics, Arable Farming, Seeds and Mongolian Medicine.

There are 57 specialties available for general education and 11specialties available for vocational and technical education. They cover arts, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, history, law, education, and management. The university is now entitled to issue Master's degree, recruit overseas students and invite foreign teachers. Now 20 specialties in it have been admitted to enroll postgraduates; 9 subjects of the university have been placed into the key subjects at the provincial level, and 9 courses have been playing an exemplary role in the autonomous region. Its journal is publicly issued in 6 editions at home and abroad.

The University maintains Teaching and Scientific Research and puts priority on both, meanwhile; it tries hard to afford several of Scientific Project, whatever from country or the autonomous, and eventually gets a significant result. The achievement which is famous in the world including: Mongolian, Mongolian Medicine, History, Animal and Agriculture and formed in sharp contrast in nationality.

The Net-centre of Inner MongoliaUniversity for the Nationalities has entered Chinese Education Research Net (CERNET) and combines with the Internet. The Library is one of the largest books and information centers in the eastern of the autonomous, and is a grade-2 unit of document retrieval for Chinese academic periodical journals. It comprises over 1,590,000 volumes and more than 3000 domestic and foreign journals. A data bank of disk and network has been set up in the library .The large-scale electronic reading-room opens to the students every day. It has the first-grade multifunctional recreation and sports centre and Olympic centre. It’s bounded to fit holding some recreation and sports here. The Inner MongoliaUniversity for Nationalities carries out foreign exchange and cooperates positively. It has founded cooperation and communication touch early or late with the high school of America, Japan, Mongolia, Russia, Korea, sent to visitors and exchange students. The University also has set up cooperation with some famous University internal like: BeijingUniversity, QinghuaUniversity, BeijingNormalUniversity, BeijingLanguageUniversity, Nankai University, Jilin University, Science and Engineering of eastern China, ShenyangMedicineUniversity, ShenyangAgricultureUniversity.

Its guiding principles for running the university are: “Take root in the eastern part and open to the whole autonomous region, uphold the socialist direction in running the school, abide by the educational law, transform the thought, improve fostering mode and develop the quality education. Pay great attention to teacher - training education, lay stress on the development of the Specialty of Mongolian Medicine, enlarges the Specialties of Agriculture and Livestock and open newly developed specialties so as to produce multifunctional talents and meet the needs of the socialist market economy.”

B: Apply Procedures
Appliers can directly ask for the Foreign Students Application Form of Inner Mongolian University for Nationalities to the College of International Exchange Of Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities or other Non-resident department which are authorized to recruit by Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities, send back the filled material to the College and following attached:
(1). Notes of Foreigner’s Body Examination (Offer the duplication and self photo needed on the form),
(2). The original and translated text of non-criminal by the country you lived,
(3). School report card of the highest academic (duplication)
(4). Self-resume
(5). The highest academic certification (duplication)
(6). Passport duplication
(7). 8 photos recently (the same norms as passport)

Remarks:
(1) The students should pay for the tuition and fees for accommodation in the first week when the new term begins. The fees will not be returned if the students discontinue, expel from school or transfer to another school after collecting the fees.
(2) a.The foreign student flats provide kitchen for public use; there are bathroom (washing room), desk, and telephone and ADSL splitter in every room.
　  b. Articles for beds are supplied freely such as quilt, sheet, pillowcase and woolen blanket.
