About NUAA
 

Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) is located in the city of Nanjing, which is 300 km away from Shanghai and has a population of 6 million.

Established in 1952, NUAA has three campuses, covering an area of 360 hectares with a building floor space of 770,000 squaremeters. The library has a collection of over 2,000,000 volumes. Now the total number of students is over 26,000, among them 16,000 are undergraduates and around 6000 postgraduates. NUAA has a staff of over 2600, among them 1300 are faculty members and researchers, including 8 CAS and CAE academicians.

As one of the key national universities in China, NUAA focuses on engineering with a well-balanced development of multiple disciplines in engineering, natural sciences, management, economics, literature, law and philosophy, and features aeronautics, astronautics and civil aviation. NUAA is now administered by the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense of China, and financed by the National Project 211. It is one of China¡¯s top 56 universities that run graduate schools.

NUAA consists of 11 colleges: Aerospace Engineering, Energy & Power Engineering, Automation Engineering, Information Science & Technology, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Material Science & Technology, Civil Aviation, Science, Economics & Management, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Arts. It has set up as many as 61 research institutes such as the Unmaned Aircraft Research Institute and the Helicopter Research Institute, and 58 laboratories including 1 Key National Laboratory, 7 Key Ministerial Laboratories, and 2 National Teaching Bases. NUAA offers a wide range of programs, of which 45 are undergraduate programs, 87 postgraduate programs, 41 doctorate programs, and 9 programs for post-doctoral fellows.
