The Well-known Zhejiang Yue Opera Troupe spreading Yue Opera art, established on the basis of original Zhejiang Art Troupe in 1949, has a glorious history of sixty years so far.

From ancient times, Zhejiang Yue Opera Troupe won high praise from all circles with its unique artistic style and refined stage expression. Several generations of artists like Yao Shuijuan eager to explore and innovate have created more than 150 excellent representative plays with rich meaning and a modern style, known as a Yue Opera troupe of elites and good plays. After watching the performance of the group, Premier Zhou Enlai made a speech: “Male and female co-action of new Yue Opera is the result of emancipating the mind and breaking the superstition... Yue Opera co-acted by male and female should be flourishing”.

Through decades of shaping and carving, in the tenet of “Public Service”, Zhejiang Yue Opera Troupe, based on the accumulated experience and profound knowledge, adheres to the characteristics of male and female co-action and takes various development roads such as stage performance, films and television programs. It carries on the artistic creation, continues to achieve new breakthroughs, has trained a large number of talents with senior technical titles, performed a lot of good plays, and won hundreds of awards at the provincial level or above, including “Plum Blossom Award”, “Wenhua Award”, “Five One Project” Award of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, First Prize of Chinese TV Programs “Flying Goddess Award”, “Gold Award Play” of Chinese Yue Opera Festival, Chinese Opera Society Award, the National Fine Stage Arts Project 30, etc., achieving the zero breakthrough of National “Five One Project” Award in Zhejiang.
