Delegation of Hong Kong Xin Shan Foundation Visits RUC

Transtlate RUC President Prof. Ji Baocheng, accompanied by Prof. Ma Junjie, Vice-Chairman of the University Council, met with Mr. Chen Guanwei, President of Board of Directors at Hong Kong Xin Shan Foundation, on December 3rd, 2009. Representatives of the Foundation including Hou Yongchang, Huang Xiude, Wang Guangzhong, and representatives of RUC Student Affairs Office also attended the meeting.
As a non-profit charity organization, Hong Kong Xin Shan Foundation is sponsored by patriots in Hong Kong. The Foundation began to set up “Renmin University of China Xin Shan Scholarship” since 1999 and has donated more than 6,230,000 RMB to RUC supporting nearly 1700 outstanding students and poor students during the past decade.
During the meeting, President Ji, on behalf of RUC, extended his appreciation of the Foundation for their continuing support to RUC’s education cause and warm concern with RUC students. He introduced RUC’s progress and disciplinary development by emphasizing the strong academic capacity, high quality students and rapid development, and also hoped to further improve RUC’s internationality under various social supports.
Mr. Chen highly praised the rapid development of RUC, great achievements in disciplinary development, cultivation of talents and campus construction, and would like to continue to support RUC’s development in the future.
After the meeting, the Foundation presented a memorial tablet to RUC.
