FCLC and Gadjah Mada University Seek Cooperation

Dec 2- Led by Dr. Ida Rochani Aid, a delegation from Gadjah Mada University Indonesia arrived in GDFUS on the morning of Nov. 26th.  The Secretary of the Party Committee from FCLC (Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture), Meng Dehong and Vice-Dean Chen Yanhui welcomed the delegation.

They had agreed to meet to talk about the possibility of cooperative programs.  To start off the meeting, Mr. Meng briefly introduced the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture including its history, current professional resources and graduates' employment status. Mr. Chen also specially introduced the major Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and MTCSOL (Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) Education Center of GDUFS to the guests. He went onto add that the FCLC so far has established cooperative relationships with 311 universities in Indonesia. A large number of students majoring in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language have been sent to Indonesia to participate in teaching programs.  Since this program has been such a success, the representatives of FCLC expressed their sincere wish to co-operate with the Gadjah Mada University.

Dr. Ida said she was also looking forward to the cooperation and believed it would promote each other's development. The delegation mentioned that they would further negotiate with the FCLC on the project.
