June 11- On June 4, 2010 International Symposium on Internationalization of Higher Education, a section of the series activities marking the 45th anniversary of GDUFS founding, was held in International Conference Hall in North campus. Deputy Director of Education Department of Guangdong Province, Wei ZhongLin, Director of Foreign Affairs Department, Liang Yonghong, President Zhong Weihe and some other experts on this field attended the symposium. The symposium was held by International College.

The seminar was presided over by Vice President Fang fanquan, which was divided into three parts, Conference speech, keynote speeches and paper readout, with a total of 25 academic speeches. The symposium focused on the many issues existing in higher education internationalization, such as practice and theories, relationship between cooperation and market demand, issue and improvement in cooperation, internal and external management on both universities and faculties, teacher training, solution to students' cultural difference, responsibilities among the co-operative partners and the like.
Zhong Weihe: Teachers, staff and students meet the international standard.

Zhong Weihe addressed the opening ceremony. He expressed a warm welcome to the experts present. He said under the circumstance of challenges and opportunities, it was one of the main tasks to further enhance the internationalization of higher education. GDUFS has been insisting on the international standard and spear no effort to realize the educational internationalization. He said the teachers' achievement on teaching and researching strongly indicated that GDUFS had been gradually repaid. He stressed that GDUFS would continue to carry out the educational internationalization on four expects, including teachers and staff meeting the international standard, students fiximg the international requirement, academic research and management.

Wei Zhonglin: Education should be international.
Wei Zhonglin started his speech by a book, "the world is flat". He said he had a clear and deep understanding about globalization after reading it. In his speech, he pointed out that education can not only realize information-sharing, but also serve the society. Higher education should be a section of globalization. In other words, education should be international. He said GDUFS had its unique feature. This university had worked out a systematic plan on international exchange and stuck to it for a long time. It had achieved great success on educational internationalization and set a positive example to other universities. He finally wished all the schools benefit from others by further studying and discussing.
