Chinese New Year Parade

On Saturday 4th of February, the Confucius Institute participated in a Chinese New Year March in Sunnybank joining in with the local and international communities to celebrate the auspicious Year of The Dragon.

Along with students from Tianjin University, who are currently at the University of Queensland for a study tour, Mr Ben Kelly, Business Manager and Professor Ling Li and Dr Geoff Chen, Deputy Directors at the Confucius Institute, proudly displayed our banner to the enthusiastic public that lined the streets.

Many other Chinese ethic groups showing the diversity of the communities joined in parade with enthralling performances of Dragon Dancing and music to entertain the locals who came from far and wide to witness this colourful event.

The Confucius Institute regularly engages with the Chinese community. If you would like to know more about activities that we organise and participate please check our website regularly
