First Performance of UIBE Three Tour Group Is Successful in Dallas
Invited and arranged by the Confucius Institute at UT Dallas and Hanban, the Spring Festival Three Tours Group from University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) performed very successfully in two schools at Dallas and Highland Park on February 2. 2012. The wonderful performance was warmly welcomed and praised by the teachers and students. Chinese splendid culture has been enjoyed by the American mainstream society.
The members of the Three Tours Group got up at 5:00 am and left for Central Junior High School at HEB at 6:00am. Under the arrangement in person by Principal Jonathan James, performance started on time at 8:30. More than 500 teachers and students had their seats in the gymnasium and enjoyed the Chinese culture. Beijing opera face off made American students especially excited. The wonderful performance and the interaction with the students have aroused American children’s great interest in Chinese culture. Vice-president Chen Jianxiang from UIBE and the superintendent Dr. Gene Buinger enjoyed the performance and accepted the interviews by the local TV station channel four, five and thirty-three.
At noon, the Three Tours Group came to the auditorium of McCulloch Intermediate School at Highland Park. At 2:00pm the performance began and about 600 teachers and students watched the performance. The actors and actresses performed with high spirit regardless of fatigue. They got heartfelt applauses from the teachers and students living in this district together with former President George Bush. The school's principal and Vice-President Chen exchanged gifts. The assistant director and Chinese director of UTD Confucius Institute accompanied the group to contact and coordinate for the whole day. In the harmonious atmosphere, the Three Tour Group came into the end of the first day with the successful performance.
