A Brief Introduction:

Founded in 1936, BICEA is a engineering institute of higher learning under the direct supervision of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. Through six decades of development and growth, it has cultivated 30-thousand construction talent at all levels. BICEA is the important cultivating base of senior technical and administrative talents for Beijing civil engineering and architecture. In November 1999, it passed the regular college course evaluation of engineering instruction of higher learning hold by the Ministry of Education.

BICEA is located in the Exhibition Hall Road (Zhanlanguan Road). Near the Second Ring Road, surroundings are beautiful and transportation is very convenient. Occupying an area of 133 thousand square meters, BICEA has a library, which provides 420 thousand volumes and 1000 kinds of foreign and national magazine. The institute has established local area network on campus, which provides a modern technical platform for teaching, science researching and

administration. It is one of the “civil campus ”denominated by Beijing Municipal Government.

BICEA has 9 departments and 3 ministries, containing 19 undergraduate specialties, 9 specialties are authorized to confer degree of master. BICEA boasts of a teaching staff of 796, among whom there are 311 full-time teachers, 33 professors, 154 associate professors.

The institute actively carries out international academic exchange and cooperation. It invites noted scholars from the United States, England, Germany and many other countries to give lectures to the student. And many famous experts are invited as guest-professors to BICEA, and most of BICEA teachers have studied or taught abroad. BICEA has established and maintained friendly ties with other institutions of higher learning and research more than 20 countries and districts.
