Hanban,Calls on Volunteer Chinese Teachers in the Philippines
The Director-General of Hanban Xu Lin recently paid a visit to volunteer Chinese teachers in the Philippines.
The volunteer teachers gave an introduction to the state of Chinese teaching in local Chinese schools. They also talked about the open day activities and ‘cultural experience’ activities they were engaged in, such as teaching Chinese song and dance and practicing Tai Chi, which have all been well-received among Philippine teachers and parents. In addition, the volunteer teachers gave a detailed introduction to their work for the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc(FFCCCII)in organizing the ‘10th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention’. Locals have expressed their appreciation for the teachers’ consideration and humble approach.
Director-General Xu Lin highly praised the positive spirit of these volunteers. She also pinned her hopes on them. Xu said that Hanban will edit more Chinese teaching materials to meet the needs of local people. Meanwhile, Hanban will cooperate with the FFCCCII in offering more privileges and resources for volunteers.
