2010 Taiwanese Youth Summer Program in the Mainland Visited RUC

on July 9th, 2010, the third delegation of “2010 Taiwanese Youth Summer Program in the Mainland” with about 360 members visited RUC .The Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office and volunteers of RUC hosted the delegation for one day’s bilateral exchanges.

In the morning, the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office of RUC held the welcoming ceremony for the delegation. Deputy Director Ms. Cheng Xin extended her warm welcome to the Taiwanese youth. Prof. Huang Qida from Taiwan Penghu University of Science and Technology and Chen Yiling from Taiwan Chengchi University delivered their speeches as the representative of team leads and members.

In the afternoon, the Taiwan delegation, accompanied by 160 RUC volunteers took a tour around the RUC campus and held various communication activities under the theme of “Talking about growing up between students across the Strait”.

In the evening, the RUC volunteers held a wonderful party for the delegation.

Mr. Ji Bin, Vice-President of All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots (All China Taiwanese Association) and Prof. Yang Huilin, Vice-President of RUC, delivered their congratulations respectively on the party.

The “2010 Taiwanese Youth Summer Program in the Mainland” is organized by the All China Taiwanese Association and co-organized by Renmin University, Peking University, Tsinghua University and other three universities in Beijing from 6th to11th in this July in the hope of promoting communications between youth across the Strait.
