GDUFS Golf Players Ready for the National Games
October 12-This year, the 11th National Games of P.R.C will be held from October 16th to the 23rd in Jinan, Shandong Province. The National Games, which has been held once every four years since 1959, is China's largest sports meeting. Zhang Yuyang, from the School of Politics and Public Administration GDUFS, and Li Jiayun, a student in the Faculty of English Language and Culture GDUFS, will be representing Guangdong Province in the National Games Golf Tournament. Last Friday, before their departure for the games, President Sui Guangjun and Vice-President Chen Zirui, Zhong Weihe, as well as other teachers, bid farewell to the two girls.
Despite bearing enormous pressure, Zhang and Li are both confident that they will achieve success in the coming games. Both girls promised that they would try their best to do well.

At the farewell party, President Sui Guangjun praised them highly for their hard work and outstanding achievements. Sui specially stressed that an outstanding university requires high-level sports teams, professional athletes and advanced sports facilities. Over the last couple of years, GDUFS has focused on enhancing their current sports program. He also pointed out that the university will always encourage and support athletes to take part in various big games as long as they can balance their studies and sports career. He hoped the two girls would do well and bring back honor for GDUFS as well as Guangdong Province.
During their conversation, Vice-President Zhong Weihe stated that GDUFS was planning to make a series of complete and effective regulations to help high-level athletes coordinate their professional sports training and academic study. He believed that these regulations would help to promote GDUFS' competitive sports development.
