GDUFS CPC Secretary Chen Jianping Attends AUPF 2009
From October 18th to the 21st, Asian university leaders and representatives gathered at the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, to participate in Asian University Presidents Forum 2009. This year’s theme was "Quality Assurance in Higher Education". GDUFS CPC Vice-Secretary Chen Jianping attended the conference and was accompanied by Indonesian Department Director, Cai Jincheng.
Vice-Secretary Chen gave a speech during the meeting, entitled "GDUFS measures in order to guarantee the quality of education" and elaborated in detail. He pointed out that building a high-level university not only requires sufficient funds, distinct features of professional disciplines, and related institutional measures, but should also keep pace with international teaching quality while promoting quality teaching management method. He highlighted the objective of teaching and suggested to raise the teaching standard. The experience of GDUFS has been highly appreciated by the representatives, and many of them expressed a desire to establish intercollegiate exchange programs.
At the invitation of Dotor Dendy Sugono, CPC Vice-Secretary Chen visited the Indonesian National Education Ministry Language Center. Doctor Sugono extended a warm welcome and proposed his hope to work with GDUFS on Indonesian teaching materials, teacher exchanging programs, and an examination center. He also talked about other projects to promote Indonesian language and culture, as well as co-operative education of both countries .CPC Vice-Secretary Chen approved the project, and invited Doctor Sugono to GDUFS for further discussion.
CPC Vice-Secretary Chen signed cooperative agreements with the State University of Jakarta, and discussed educational quality control with other colleges. The next AUPF will be held at the Norton University in Cambodia.
