The Number of SCI Papers in Medicine Discipline Ranks No.1 among China’s Universities
According to the statistics of 2008 China’s Scientific paper released by Institute of Science and Technology Information of China on November 27, 2009, SCI papers in medicine disciplines of SJTU are 645, increasing by 34.7% over the previous year. It is the first time to rank No. 1 nationally (while in 2007, ranking second with 421 papers); Zhejiang University (with 569 papers) and Peking University (491) rank second and third respectively. The top 20 medical institutions of China with the most SCI papers, Ruijin Hospital (169 papers), the Sixth People’s Hospital (115papers), and the Ninth People’s Hospital (90 papers) Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, rank seventh, twelfth and seventeenth. Among the Top 20 medical institutions with SCI papers of “extraordinary performance” released for the first time, SJTU Affiliated Ruijin Hospital (22 papers), the First People’s Hospital (9 papers), SJTU Affiliated Renji Hospital (8 papers), and the Sixth People’s Hospital (7 papers) rank No. 2, 15, 18 and 20 respectively. Papers of “extraordinary performance” refer to the papers that have the higher citation rates than the world average citation rate in the same discipline.
