Japanese Association Visits GDUFS
November 26 - Satomi Kanehira, Director General of NPO Japan-China Friendship Exchange Association, together with Vice Director General Mutsuo Kanehira, led a delegation to visit GDUFS on November 23rd. Meeting with Mr. Kanehira in the VIP room at MBA Centre, GDUFS Vice President Shi Youqi presented the guests with an introduction of Japanese education at GDUFS. He also expressed gratitude for the over 9000 books that were presented by the Japanese association. Also in attendance were Wei Lixin, Dean of the Faculty of the Asian Languages and Cultures, Librarian Li Jingping and Vice Director of the International Office, Liang Jie.
The delegation was very happy with how the books had been well administrated and voiced this appreciation when visiting the GDUFS library. After, they were invited to the Japanese tea room in the campus, where they had pleasant conversations with GDUFS students majoring in Japanese.

The Japanese delegation was invited to dinner by GDUFS President Sui Guangjun that evening. President Sui expressed his admiration for the Kanehiras , who have been working for friendship between China and Japan for many years. Mr. Satomi Kanehira committed to continue contributing books to GDUFS for the rest of his life.

NPO Japan-China Friendship Exchange Association began to communicate with GDUFS in January, 2004. Director General Satomi Kanehira has presented a large amount of Japanese original books to GDUFS, enriching its book collection.
