Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter Visits Tsinghua

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Mrs. Rosalynn Carter visited Tsinghua University on September 6th. Tsinghua University President Gu Binglin had a discussion with the Carters.

During their conversation, President Gu stated that the relationship between Tsinghua and the U.S.A. has a long history which includes institutional exchanges, collaboration with industries, and visits by government officials. President Gu then briefed Mr. Carter on Tsinghua’s latest development in education and overseas cooperation. President Gu and Mr. Carter also exchanged ideas on future collaboration between Tsinghua and The Carter Center in Atlanta. Tsinghua University Vice President Yuan Si also participated in the discussion.

Mr. Carter's visit also included Tsinghua’s School of Law on the same day.
