From September 26th to October 3rd, 2013, the Guangdong Provincial Job Fair for Overseas High-level Talents was held in London, England and Washington D.C, USA. This event was aimed at identifying high-level candidates from overseas for possible employment in Guangdong Province. A group of experts from the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Economic and Information Commission and the Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of Guangdong Province attended the event. Representatives from GDUFS were also among the delegates. 
 

QIN Limo, Director of Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs for Guangdong Province, spoke about the development of Guangdong Province and gave special attention when introducing personnel policies for needed high-level talents and presented stories of the successful overseas returnees about Guangdong Province. 
 

Related to Job Fairs, CHEN Jianping, Vice-CPC Secretary of GDUFS talked with the overseas students present, recommending GDUFS for its distinct character of global vision and its highly attractive platform via which overseas returnees might display their talents. Altogether, there were over 30 students with PhD and post doctoral degrees submitting their resumes and promising to GDUFS in the future.

Job fairs, such as this one, help enhance the strengths of profiles of the enterprises of Guangdong Province as well as the teaching and research institutes of this area by stimulating innovation and also by accelerating transformation of the structures of the institutions involved. Among the visiting group, there were leaders from the Human Resources and Social Security Departments from the cities of Guangzhou, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Maoming and Qingyuan. Also present were-directors of major universities, research institutes, enterprises, high-tech zones and Pioneering Park for Overseas Talent.

Leaders from the PRC Embassy in the UK and the U.S.A-as well as overseas representatives of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, all of whom-spoke highly of the event. Based on comments and evaluations, this job fairs held by Guangdong province could be considered as one of the most successful events nationwide. This event makes overseas talent candidates familiar with Guangdong Province and has a positive effect in attracting high-level talent to our province.
