Prof. Neil A. Bellefontaine, Vice President of WMU, Visited and Lectured at SMU

From September 11 to 15, Prof. Neil A. Bellefontaine, Vice President of WMU, visited and lectured at SMU. Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU met with the guests with warm reception.

During the talks, Prof. Jin Yongxing highly appraised the friendship between WMU and SMU, and expected Prof. Bellefontaine would continue to promote mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the visit, Prof. Neil A. Bellefontaine gave a lecture entitled The Challenges of Ocean Governance and Sustainability to the students from College of Ocean Environment and Engineering. Around the ocean governance and sustainable development, he explained the destruction factors of ocean environment, climate change and their impact on ocean management, and introduced relative international organizations, regulations and laws as well as how to coordinate the international organization to protect the oceans. After the lecture, Prof. Bellefontaine interacted with the students, having all their questions answered in detail.
