Athletics

Gymnasium
Sports are important part of the students’ campus life. Beijing Institute of Technology is sized of good sports facilities and grounds, including grounds of football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton gym as well as the swimming pool. A new well-equipped gym is under construction now, which will highly improve the sports conditions at BIT.
Games and Events
BIT Students Took Part in the 43th Capital College Students Track Meet .
The 43th Capital College Students Track Meet was held in Beijing Normal University on May, 22. The students from Beijing Institute of Technology made inspiring performance in the opening ceremony, adding highlight to the track meet. 
 

BIT students took part in more than 30 events and gained 3 individual championships and gained the third prize for the female group and the fifth prize for the male and female group at last.

Community Group

At present, there are nearly 70 student associations registered on the campus. They are active in various fields of art and sports, social work, theory, science and technology etc., playing active roles in enriching the campus literature and life, but also playing irreplaceable roles in developing the students’overall capability. Associations patrolling is one of the traditional activities of BIT student associations, with the goal of making students as center, providing plat form for the associations to present themselves and activating the campus literature, providing opportunities for them to learn from each other so as to gain self-development. Since the founding of  the committee of student association in 1989, BIT has successfully held more than 10 student associations’patrolling which have been highly appraised by the teachers and students with their various activities and the benign spirit.

Facilities

BIT is located in the central area of Hi-tech Industrial Park of Haidian District in Beijing. It is not only adjacent to the National Library of China and many other universities, but also benefit from good inhabitant and entertainment facilities. The shopping malls are within walking distance from BIT. 14 route public transportation bus lines, in addition to mini-buses, airport shuttle and taxi is easily accessible to the campus. BIT enjoys not only the most beautiful campus but also the best convenient location to go downtown and all main sightseeing places in Beijing.


Cafeteria
There are 8 dinning halls on BIT campus including cafeteria and muslin dinning hall. The university also sets up International Students’ restaurants near the International Students Residence to make it more convenient for the students to have meals. In addition, there are several Chinese restaurants and bakery on the campus.

Medical

Campus Clinic
    BIT campus clinic is approved by Beijing Health Organization and offers around-the–hours medical services for all the students, faculty and staff, their families as well as other people who resident on BIT campus.
Public medical services outside campus
    Medical Services are very convenient in Beijing. There are many public hospitals and pharmacies in Beijing. The Beijing Medical Emergency Service Center, International Medical Center and many big hospitals provide emergency help. We suggest students to arrange their insurance policy before coming to China.

Shopping
BIT is situated in the core area of Haidian District in Beijing with many shopping malls and supermarkets around. In addition, there are also several small-scaled supermarkets and stores on BIT campus on the students’ convenience.
