Yue Opera “Dream of The Red Mansion”Raised Hot Interests in SJTU

Transtlate On the evening of May 25 th , Hung Opera Troupe of Shanghai Yue Opera Club stepped onto the stage of Jingjing Hall of SJTU Minhang campus with their classical opera “Dream of the Red Mansion” which induced a seldom hotness on the cultural stage of the campus. The performance lasted for nearly 3 hours and there was no vacancy in the Hall. An exceptional grand occasion also took place at the gate of JingJing Hall. There were teachers from Xujiahui District, some students after class without having supper and also a group of old people greying at the temples, many of whom were fans of Yue opera. They could discuss the performers and their aria very familiarly, but most people were students who were not very familiar with Yue opera and came to see the performance with a kind of fresh feeling.
Although the story of “Dream of the Red Mansion” is known nearly by everyone, the form of Yue opera still has some distance from the students. When we are used to the hot and noisy rock and roll, can we calm ourselves down and enjoy the quiet and traditional expression style? From the reaction of the audiences on site, especially the zest of the young students yesterday, we know that Yue opera has come into campus and come into the heart of the students. Tears trickling down a girl's cheeks when she saw the section that Daiyu died in depression. Besides, the beautiful and fine setting of the stage also gained the praise from the students.
