  1. Geotechnical Engineering Faculty
    1. Geotechnical Engineering
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject helps to develop students’ ability in engineering construction such as reconnaissance, design, construction and supervision of engineering geology; hydrogeological exploration of the large-and-medium-size water head; evaluation, exploitation and utilization of water resources; and in evaluation and management of geological disaster, etc.
      Main courses are: Rock mechanics, Groundwater Dynamics, General Geology, Engineering Mechanics (including Theoretical Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials), Soil Mechanics, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, etc.
      Graduates of this subject will be able to undertake the related technical and managing work such as reconnaissance, design, construction, supervision and consultation in fields of city construction, electric power, water conservancy, traffic, and home defense. They may also participate in teaching and research work in colleges and universities or scientific research institutions.
       

    2. Civil Engineering (Directions of Geotechnical Engineering and Underground Construction)
      It includes the directions of Geotechnical Engineering and Underground Construction. This is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. The goal of this subject is to develop students’ technical ability in prospective design, research, construction, management, supervision and investment& exploitation, mainly in fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Foundation Engineering and Underground Construction.
      Main courses are: Engineering Mechanics (including Theoretical Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials), Structural Mechanics, Rock- soil Mechanics, Engineering Geology, Underground Structure, Building Materials, Concrete Structure and Foundation Engineering, etc.

    3. Management of Environmental Resources and Layout of Town and Country
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject aims to help students learn and master the basic theory and skill of Environmental Management, so that they will be proficient in resource development; urban planning development, design, construction, supervision, investment control and environmental protection, ect.
      Main courses are: High-level Language Programming, Cartography, Economic Geography, Principle of Economics, Remote Sensing Technology and Application, Geographical Information System, Introduction to Management, Urban Economics, Landed Property Conspectus, etc.

    4. Geographical Information System
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject aims to help students learn and master basic theory, knowledge and skills concerning geographic information system(GIS) and cartography, also can develop their ability in related work, such as application study, technical development, production and administration management in the fields of flood protection and disaster reduction, disaster analysis, water resources management, agricultural information, infrastructure and planning management, regional resources, environment, traffic, population, lodging and land planning.

    1. Computer Science and Technology
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject focuses on basic theory, knowledge and skills of computer science and technology, with computer control, soft ware engineering and computer network as its main directions.

    2. Electronic Information Engineering
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years.     1. Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power Engineering
      It is an undergraduate subject, with a long history, good teaching conditions, and a well-educated staff with high standards of teaching. It consists of four academic years. Graduates may undertake work mainly in development and utilization of water conservancy and hydroelectric power resources, which includes watershed planning and reconnaissance, design, construction and management of the large-and-medium-size water conservancy and electric power hub and buildings (e.g. embankment, water power plant workshops, water gate and drawing water facilities, water transfer, drainage), and related scientific research.

    2. Engineering Management
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject closely connects the characteristics of modern construction and management of water conservancy and electric power engineering. The main focus is on learning the basic knowledge of management science, economics, technology of water conservancy and electric power engineering, mastering the theory, means and methods of modern management science. Once graduating, students will be able to work in the field of domestic and foreign engineering construction. They will be able to undertake such tasks as project decision-making, complete modern management and project supervision. They may also work in design and study institutions and undertake project assessment and evaluations and economic analysis of projects, etc.

Students of this subject, as top engineering talents, may work in water conservancy and hydroelectric power engineering department, efficient use of water resources engineering department, and urban and rural water supply and draining engineering department.

    5. Waterway of Port and Coast Engineering (Direction of Rive Regulation)

    1. Architecture
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of five academic years. This subject mainly focuses on learning building design, urban design and interior design, so graduates may work in a design office and are qualified for various professions.
      Students study basic theory and knowledge of building design, principles of urban planning and technology of construction work. Students will also gain basic training in building design. The students will graduate with abilities in project planning, architectural designing and construction working drawing, ect.

    2. Urban planning
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject focuses on learning urban planning and design. This subject cultivates students to be top engineering talents in urban planning. This will qualify them to work in such sectors as urban planning, urban planning management, decision-making consultation and real estate development, participating in work of urban planning and management, urban road and traffic planning, urban municipal engineering planning, and urban ecological planning, as well as landscape systems planning. They can also be employed in urban planning of social and economic development, regional planning, urban development, real estate design and the study of related policies and laws.
      Students learn basic theory of urban planning, urban ecological and environmental protection, urban communications, municipal engineering planning and regional planning.       Students will study basic theory of engineering mechanics, hydrodynamics, soil and rock mechanics and municipal engineering. They will have basic practice in course design, laboratory instrument operation and workshop practice. They will have basic abilities in plannig, design, research, construction and management of civil engineering.

    4. Traffic Engineering:
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject focuses on developing students’ knowledge in planning, design and control of traffic engineering and systems. This subject will improve their abilities in transportation planning, traffic engineering planning, and development of transportation control systems. They will be able to work in provincial or municipal developing and planning departments, traffic planning and designing departments or traffic control and management departments.
      Students will study basic theory of systematic engineering and traffic engineering. They will have basic training in identification and drawing of maps, as well as machine operation, engineering survey, engineering estimation and budgeting. They will develop their abilities in the planning and designing of basic traffic facilities and assessment of engineering projects.
      Main courses are: Traffic Engineering, Systematic Engineering, Economy and Regulations of Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, Design for General Drawing, Road and Harbor Station Design, Traffic Control and Management, Road Engineering, Railway Traffic Planning, Traffic Project Evaluation, Engineering Estimate and Budget, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. The main practicing courses are Engineering Drawing, Practice of Measurement, Motor Vehicle Driving and Testing, and Harbor Station Design Practice.     5. Engineering Mechanics
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject focuses on developing students to be top engineering talents in the basic theories of mechanics, with abilities in computation and experiment. They will be qualified for mechanical work such as, scientific research, technology development, engineering design and teaching of engineering. They will be qualified to teach subjects such as mechanical engineering, civil engineering, material engineering, energy engineering, traffic engineering, aviation engineering, ship engineering, river construction and chemical engineering.
      Students will study basic theory of mechanics and mathematics and will have necessary technical engineering training. Students will have the ability to resolve engineering problems related to mechanics by means of computer and modern experimental techniques.
      Main courses are: Theoretical Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials, Elastodynamics, Hydrodynamics, Vibration Mechanics, Computational Mechanics, Experimental Mechanics, Structural Mechanics, Electrotechnics and Electronic Technology, Basic Knowledge and Program Design of Computer.       It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject helps to develop students’ knowledge and abilities in the fields of art design and creation and teaching and scientific research. They will be qualified for work in art design, research, teaching, and management in the fields of art design education, research, design, production and management.
      Students will study basic theory of art design, while developing their ideas in art design. They will hone their design methods and skills. They will graduate with have the techniques of creation and design.

  5. Mechanical Engineering Faculty
    1. Material Molding and Control Engineering
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject focuses on developing students to be top engineering talents and researchers with systematic basic theory in materials science and mechanics. They will learn technique and theory of material molding, master the engineering technology of mold design and production, and computer technology foundation and application.

    2. Design and Manufacturing of Machinery and Automation (Directions of Engineering Machinery, Electromechanical Integration or Integration of Machinery and Electricity and Machinery Manufacturing)
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of and four academic years. This subject has a well-educated teaching staff that helps to develop students to be top engineering talents, with basic knowledge and a good command of machinery design and manufacturing.       It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. The bachelor degree of science will be granted. This subject aims to develop engineering personnel with basic knowledge and skills in design, measurement and instrument control. They will be qualified for such technical work as measurement and control in related national economic fields, and some work like design and manufacture, science and technology development, application study, and operation management of instruments and systems.

    4. Traffic (Direction of Automobile Operation Engineering)
      It is an undergraduate subject consisting of four academic years. The bachelor degree of science will be granted. This subject focuses on learning basic theory and expertise in vehicle operation engineering, developing students’ abilities in modern vehicle test, and fault diagnosis and maintenance. Students of this subject will also learn automobiles marketing, traffic and physical distribution, technical service of vehicles and insurance settlements, and skills during practice training.

  6. Dynamical Engineering Faculty
    1. Thermal Power and Dynamic Engineering
      (Including Directions of Dynamic Engineering of Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power and Dynamic Engineering of Thermal Power)
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject focuses on basic operational principle and the theory of mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment and control systems of hydraulic and thermal power plants. This subject helps to develop students’ abilities in operation and maintenance, management and design, technical innovation and study; to meet the needs of market economy.
      Main specialized core courses are: Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Modern Control Theory, Foundation of Mechanism Design, Electrotechnics and Electronic Technology. The main specialized courses in Thermal Power Engineering direction are: Boiler Principle, Principles of the Steam Turbine, Electric Power Plant and Automatic Engineering Thermodynamics. The main specialized courses for Engineering of Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power direction are: Hydraulic Turbine, Governing of Hydraulic Turbine, Subordinate Equipment of Water Power Set, Testing Technology, Computer Monitoring Technology and Electrical Equipment of Power Plant. Both of the two disciplines share the same course of Relay Protection and Automation courses.
      Students of this major, with a general and well-set theoretical foundation of water conservancy, thermal power, mechanics, electric power and professional knowledge and skill of power plant production, will be qualified for design, manufacture, operation and management work in power generating machinery, such as fluid machinery and thermal power machinery, They would also be qualified for dynamical engineering, such as dynamic engineering of thermal power, dynamic engineering of water conservancy and hydroelectric power, refrigeration engineering and air conditioning. They may be employed in colleges, surveying and designing institutes of hydro or electric power, and scientific research institutes. Skilled graduates may also be employed in thermodynamic or hydraulic power plants, electric construction companies, electricity supply departments, and army and power equipment factories.
       

    2. Electrical Engineering and Automation
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject helps students develop their abilities in research, design, operation, experiment, management and development in the fields of electrical engineering and automation.
      Main specialized core courses are: Engineering Mechanics, Circuitry, Simulated Electronic Technology, Digital Electronic Technology, Electro mechanics, Power Electronic Technology and Automation Theory. The main specialized courses are: Electric Sector of Power Plant, Power Engineering, Electric Power System Analysis, Relay Protection of Electric Power System, Modern Electric Drive Control Technology and Computer Control Technology.
      Students of this subject can learn general basic theory and gain solid expert knowledge; develop basic skills and receive good practical training in electrical engineering; they will also gain a strong innovation ability, management ability, and ability in science and technology development. They will be able to meet the needs of the market economy, work in different power plants, electricity-supplying departments of electric power system, institutes of electric power survey, design and research, departments of electric power management and do some power engineering work such as design, operation, management and scientific research.
       

    3. Automatization
      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. This subject mainly focuses on construction and development of control science and engineering. It also helps to develop students’ abilities in analysis, design, emulation, and decision optimizing in the fields of industrial process control and motion control systems. They will be able to do some research work in control theory and system of computer application, pattern cognition and intelligent control.

    It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. It mainly focuses on helping students develop a solid foundation in English, strong communicative ability in English and good English quality. This subject will also help students in learning science and technology, as well as giving them knowledge in economy and trade. They will be able to work in the fields of science and technology, economy and trade, foreign affairs, enterprises, tourism, culture education, information, and do some work of translation, teaching, scientific research and management.

It has a large qualified staff and fine experimental equipment. National certification in water supply and drainage engineering has been granted to Engineering Environmental Monitoring Center.

      It is an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. It focuses on developing students’ specialty abilities in designing, installing, operating and developing urban heat energy supply system and public utilities systems in large buildings, such as, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigerating, gas supply, water supply and sewer systems, as well as electrical systems in buildings.
      Main courses are: Engineering Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Hydrodynamics, Study of Architectural Environment, Pipe-net for Fluid Transfer, Principles and Equipments of Heat and Mass Transfer, Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Technology, Heating Engineering, Urban Gas Supply Engineering, Building Electrical Engineering, Water Supply and Sewerage Engineering of Building, Air Cleaning Technology, Building Autoimmunization, Building Energy-saving Technology, Computer-aided Design and Realty Management.       It's an undergraduate subject, consisting of four academic years. Our university is one of the five universities which have such a specialty subject in our country. This subject focuses on students learning the scientific theory of fire protection, fire protection technology and engineering, policies and statutes. It will also develop their abilities in the application of fire protection technology and engineering such as research, design, monitoring, construction, management, evaluation, control, and fire accident investigation and analysis.
