Transtlate On Oct.7th, the celebration ceremony of the 30th anniversary of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering was held at the lecture hall of the School of Management.
Guests attending the ceremony included Prof. Luo Jun, HUST Vice President and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhuo Renxi from Wuhan University, Prof. Tang Benzhong from Hong Kong University of Sci. & Tech., Prof. Zhang Fengzhi from Taiwan Chiao Tung University, Mr. Ma Jin, director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Mr. Liu Liangyan, director general of Hubei Society of Chemistry and Chemical Industry. And over 20 sister universities and institutes were present. They contained Xiamen University, Wuhan University, Yangtze University, Hubei Chemical Research Institute, etc.
Prof. Xie Xiaolin, dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, reviewed its history, introduced its recent development and future plan. Later, Mr. Ma Jin, Mr. Liu Liangyan and representatives of HUST alumni, teachers and students expressed their sincere wishes to the school. Prof. Nie Jin, vice dean of the school, announced the namelist of 23 retired school leaders and teachers who were winners of Outstanding Contribution Award for the Establishment of the Department of Chemistry. Then the donation ceremony was held.
Vice President Prof. Luo Jun stated that the school played an important role in helping HUST material science, biology & biochemistry, pharmacology & toxicology enter ESI ranking. He hoped that the school could develop into a first-class school and provide discipline support and leading services in improving HUST’s integrated strength.
