The First Chinese-American Mayor Visits GDUFS
Nov.15th-The first Chinese-American Mayor, Mr. Huang Jingbo visited GDUFS' south campus on November 11st. In a humorous Hong Kong style tone, Mr. Huang shared with the audiences his legendary life experience and his point of views on today's economic, politic and cultural issues.
To inspire the students to shoulder their social responsibility, Huang quoted his mother, saying that one must arm himself with knowledge and in return, offer help to the unlucky in our society. From medical study to welfare programs, Huang has chosen every cause in his life based on his sense of responsibility for society.
Mr. Huang believes in the motto, " Let our dreams instead of regrets dominate our lives". He said, "The college is a society in miniature, in which we should learn how to handle interpersonal relationships instead of mountains of examinations."
In the Q&A session, when asked by a student about efficient ways to manage our time, Huang emphasized the significance of working attitudes. "If you don't focus on the details, you can do nothing well," said Mr. Huang.
At the end of the speech, Mr. Huang accepted the invitation to become the Honorary President of GDUFS' Public Relations Association.
