Chinese Language Course was Opened at General Administration of Sudan
On 15th January, 2011 the 1st Chinese language course opening ceremony was held at the General Administration of Information and Telecommunication of Ministry of Defense in Sudan. The director of the General Administration, director of Confucius Institute at University of Khartoum, 18 solider students and some Chinese teachers attended this ceremony.
The director of the General Administration offered great support to this course, and in his speech at the ceremony he encouraged his soliders to study Chinese language hard. He also thanked CIUOFK for designing the special language and culture course according to the free time of the students. In order to help students better learn Chinese language and culture, CIUOFK donated nearly 100 books which are in Chinese and Arabic languages. Those books will be put in the classroom for students reading after class.

Started from last October, a 3-person small Chinese class from the spokesman’s office at Ministry of Defense was taught by the Chiense director Li Hui and volunteer teacher Zhang Yu. All of them have passed the level-one course and gotten the graduation certificates.
At present, there is a “Chinese language craze” in Khartoum. CIUOFK is opening different traing courses at the branches, offering more learning places and chances for Chinese language learners.
