A "Sinomania" for Indonesian Student

The tenth Education Exhibition of Study in China was held by China's overseas service centre and Ticket Station in Kartika Chandra hotel, in Djakarta, in Indonesia, in 2012. During the exhibition, numerous local parents and students were attracted to consult.

According to the statement of the spokesman of China's overseas service center, there were twenty-three Chinese universities attending the exhibition, such as Beijing Language and Culture University, Shanghai University, Shanghai Normal University, etc..

The spokesman said:"Since 2003 to 2012, China's overseas service center holds China Education Exhibition in Djakarta, Bandung and Surabaya each year and attracts over 40 thousand visitors. Up to now, 290 thousand foreign students study in China, including about 11 thousand Indonesian students. For foreign students exchange between China and Indonesia becomes increasing frequently in recent years, Indonesian students studying in China are keeping growing, with fifteen percent growth rate. A sinomania is rising in Indonesia.

On the exhibition spot, the reporter saw many local students and parents coming to consulte related information of studying in China. There were twenty-odd students from STP SAHID University on the first day. " I wish to study trade and business knowledge in China and work in China if possible." One student said.

In the front of Beijng Language and Culture University exhibition stand, an overseas Chinese girl, Huang yisheng, following her pwrents come to help her old brother Andika counseling the relevant studying information about Beijing Language and Culture University. What's more, another overseas Chinese Mr. li consultes all related details of studying in China who wish his daughter to learn Financing in Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Before the exhibition stand of University of International Business and Economics, an overseas Chinese named Dean told the reporter:" I have studied Chinese one year in an indonesian school and now I prepare for learning international trade and business or business administration in China, after graduation, I will come back to Indonesia and do buisiness."

On the name list of University of International Business and Economics,some Chinese names, such as Li yunen, Lin meili and Wen jiali, as well as Indonesian names, Fitrt, Yusa, Muhammd etc. are presented.

Moreover, in the front of the stand of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Huang huatai, an overseas chinese student said to reporter that she studyed Chinese in China Youth University of Political Sciences, and then learnt international trade and business in Shanghai Jiaotong University for 4 years. With the help of teachers and clasmates, she finished her studying successfully last year, and works in Jinhuang Bank of Indonesia.

The office director of Beijing Language and Culture University said:" Our University provides professional teachers for Indonesian students, sets up the international student affair office and helps them organize student union. At the same time, the university also supplys good accomodation to Indonesian students and insure them live in school for their safety. Although Muslim food is not available until now, school will get reasonable plan as soon as possible."

On the exhibition, Chinese professors communicates with representatives from more than ten higher schools from Indonesia, they share each other's education experience and exchange ideas about strengthen we two countries's culture and education cooperation and interaction. (author:suri)
