Students Act as "Non-governmental Envoy" for China and South Korea

During the twenty years diplomatic relationship between China and South Korea, both countries make great effort on politics, trade and business, culture, education etc.. Among these, the increasing number of foreign students has become "the non-governmental envoy" of our two countries.
 
 
According to the official statistics, there are over 60 thousand Chinese students studying in South Korea as well as South Korea is the biggest source for China with over 70 thousand Korean students in Chinese mainland occupying 70 percent of all foreign students. On the campus in Korea, the foreign student from Chinese mainland is not rare to meet.
 
 
The diplomatic relationship of two countries began from 1992, and the education communication started from 1993. At the very beginning, both governments only sent three foreign students for education exchange activity. Then, self-financing student augmented quickly, from first one thousand to late about ten thousand. Comparing with one thousand in 1999, there were over thirty-four thousand in 2007 and increase to seventy thousand in 2011. As we can see, the number of foreign students adds as quickly as the development in other areas between two countries.
 
 
As far, foreign student has become the most important part of education exchange of two countries. It contributes to sending talents for countries in academic area and other fields as well as deepening understanding for each other. Of course, as foreign students, there are many problems to deal with, such as living and studying environment. In order to overcome these problems as soon as possible, students need spending more time and attention on studying. But they can tackle without questions.
 
 
As for education cooperation between China and South Korea, problems cannot be denied to some degree, but the potential is great. Meanwhile, the quality o f foreign student should be under the control. Countries need international overall talent. Education exchange need deepen, education quality need improve.
