This year's Harvard Summit for Young Leaders, which was held in both Beijing and Shanghai, was the seventh time that the summer summit was offered in China by the Harvard Association for U.S.-China Relations (HAUSCR).

The summit introduced Harvard-style teaching forums using the university's core curriculum with Harvard characteristics in which more attention is paid to students' creativity and analytical abilities. It also employed a 12-department system allowing students to choose their own study programs from 12 academic departments at Harvard.

After the nine-day summit, 20 to 30 outstanding students will be chosen by a committee to participate in a one-week exchange activity at Harvard University. All public courses will be available to them, and they will be able to live in one of the student dormitories on Harvard's campus. (suri)
