HEU Holds a Symposium for Foreign Post Graduate Students
On 24th October, HEU held a symposium for foreign post graduate students at the meeting room of the main building. The symposium was for obtaining information concerning foreign students learning, living conditions and to gather feedback about foreign students experience studying in China. HEU Vice president YANG Desen attended and led the symposium. Relevant department’s leaders from the graduate school, international exchanges and cooperation participated in the symposium. He also expressed his thanks to the international students for selecting HEU to study their post graduate degree.
During the Symposium, 28 students from Russia and Egypt talked about their experience studying in China and expressed their thanks to the school for providing them with a good learning and living environment. Egyptian student Osman stated that, “he hoped the school library could add more foreign language books and foreign science and technology information”. Grace from Kenya mention that she hoped the school could provide students with more chances to be involved in research lab experiments and more practical application opportunities. The students were able to speak openly and freely because the atmosphere was relaxed. Everyone exchanged their ideas about increasing the academic learning exchange with Chinese students, improving Chinese study, and having work placement opportunities in Chinese industries. They also discussed the problems of their courses, sports and cultural activities.
YANG Desen listened to everyone's opinions and suggestions seriously. He also asked the school relevant departments to consider the students opinions and suggestions seriously. He hoped the students can cherish their opportunity to study hard and participate in many academic activities actively, improve the communication with their supervisors and classmates, develop friendship, and complete the post graduate studies with high honours.
At present, There are a total of 165 foreign students doing their master and doctor degrees from over 40 countries such as Egypt and Russia at HEU.
