Transtlate On October 29th, Professor LIU Jinchuan, who is an Academician of American Engineering Academy, and Physics Professor WANG Xunli from City University of Hong Kong were invited to the “Ocean Engineering Materials Symposium” held at HEU. HEU’s President LIU Zhigang met the distinguished guests in the VIP Room in the Administration Building.
After welcoming the guests, President LIU briefly introduced HEU’s overall educational strategy and the developmental progress of Material Science. He stated that Material Science has witnessed considerable progress at HEU in recent years. It is one of the disciplines that have a high demand and high transformation rate. Material Science has established a relatively close relationship with other disciplines and has also been involved in frequent high-level international exchanges. President LIU also expressed his hope that HEU will maintain their long-term relationship and cooperation with high-level experts from home and abroad.
Professor LIU Jinchuan spoke highly of HEU’s educational achievements and developmental progress and direction. He indicated that international cooperation contributes to promoting the development of disciplines and benefits all parties. As a universal discipline, Material Science could be combined with other disciplines such as shipbuilding and nuclear energy, which might complements the current research to inspire innovation. He expressed his willingness to promote exchanges and cooperation in the related disciplines between City University of Hong Kong and HEU.
Directors of Science and Technology Office, Foreign Affairs Office and the College of Materials Science and Chemical Engineer also attended the meeting.
