Purdue University visited International College for joint education
On the afternoon of 30th October 2013, Dr. Want Tao, the Vice President received the guest from Purdue University, Professor Kashchandra G. Raghothama, Assistant Director of International Affairs Office in Agricultural College in the ICB conference room.
After reviewing the past records of several aspects in the joint education programs between the two universities including undergraduate students exchange and also the research programs, Dr. Wang stated that the impact of the collaboration between two universities has been tremendous throughout these years, not only on the growth of our students, but also on other educational programs and researches. Therefore, Dr. Wang Tao looked forward to the continual collaboration and anticipates an even stronger bond between the two universities in the coming future. At the same time, Dr. Wang also introduced the rules and regulations which are involved on the foreign joint education program in our country to the visitor in order to ensure the mutual and deeper understanding between each other. By explaining those regulations clearly, Dr. Wang wishes that the policies and instructions between two universities could be carried out more effectively, and new collaboration opportunities could be created. Moreover, Dr. Wang stated that our university is keen to attract higher quality resources from other countries. He proposed to build up a joint education organization with Purdue University in the coming future. He also thinks if we could learn more high quality educational philosophies and teaching methods, it will definitely become a huge contribution for the developments of the higher education in our country.
Professor Raghothama appreciates very much on the contributions of our university in encouraging the collaboration between the two universities. He has also emphasized the importance of our university as a key strategic partner with the Purdue University. He wishes that the two universities could collaborate in a deeper level on the research areas as well as the on students exchange in the future. After understanding the related rules and regulations about the joint education program in our country, Professor Raghothama is pleased with our proposal in building a joint educational organization with the Purdue University. He stated that he would definitely pass this particular message to the related department in his university so that this proposal could be followed up effectively.
The Dean of ICB Huang Guan Hua, and Associate Deans Feng Wei Zhe and Xu Ting Wu, as well as the Deputy Director of International Communication and development Office from CAU Du Jinkun have also taken part in this particular meeting.
