On the afternoon of 29th October 2013, Chairman Jiang Pei Ming met with the President Bill Rammel from Bedsfordshire University, UK.  The meeting was held in conference room 512 of the Main Building.

Chairman Jiang Pei Ming has presented a warm welcome for the visit of President Bill Rammel.  He has praised the collaboration between Bedsfordshire University and our university, and he also highly appreciates for the support that has been given by the Bedsfordshire University throughout these years.  Chairman Jiang stressed the importance of the collaboration between the two universities and he stated that he would actively facilitate the good relationship between each other.  He proposed that the two universities to maintain the good relationship and collaboration; improve the quality of the existing programs and its impact to the society; advance the joint education programs and create more opportunities for the development and interaction between the students and teachers as well as other areas.  He also indicated that in order to create an excellent world-wide agricultural university, it is necessary for us to learn from the foreign experiences and utilize the international resources.  Therefore, the collaboration of our university with the Bedsfordshire University is a crucial factor for us in order to develop an international education environment.  In this case, both universities would eventually create a win-win situation.

At the same time, President Bill Rammel also appreciates the meeting with Chairman Jiang very much.  He stated, the collaboration between the China Agricultural University and Bedsfordshire University has been a success, and his university highly values the good relationship and the collaboration with our university.  Bedsfordshire will continuously create more collaboration opportunities with our university; build a more flexible and broader communication platform in order to facilitate the communication between both universities, and also cultivate the sense of internationalization for students in both universities.  He has also introduced to Chairman Jiang about a few future collaboration programs in between the two universities including the willingness of Bedsfordshire University to send more overseas students to the China Agricultural University, and also the invitation for our personnel to UK to develop the Chinese language and cultural programs or other educational programs in Bedsfordshire University.  He personally showed sincerity on the collaboration in between the two universities, and he will do his best to build an even deeper and better relationship with our university in the coming future.

On the 28th October 2013, President Ke Bing Sheng has also met with President Bill Rammell in the Jin Ma Building conference center.  Both parties reviewed and thoroughly affirmed the positive relationship for the past 15 years.  They have also discussed some important details for the next collaboration projects.  Ke Bing Sheng is pleased with the proposal that the Bedsfordshire University is going to send 200 overseas students to attend the summer semester in the China Agricultural University for the year of 2014; and he is highly appreciated with the fact that the Bedsfordshire University will set up a scholarship program in order to encourage the participations of the overseas students to our university.  He is also impressed and feels positive about the outstanding and innovative idea that the Bedsfordshire University will introduce our high quality educational resources such as Chinese language and cultures into UK; Mr. Ke has suggested that the related departments in both universities should immediately follow-up the proposal and investigate the viability of it.  Other than that, both parties have also exchanged ideas and suggestions on the topics such as sending more teachers to our university in the near future; assisting our university to build top quality international library facilities and management researches as well as creating an English version webpage.  Procedures to proceed the mentioned projects has also been discussed during the discussion.

The vice president of Bedsfordshire University, Dr. Ashraf Jawaid OBE, Collaboration Coordinator Helen Bailey, International Office Director Harry Wang, Dean of ICB Dr. Huang Guan Hua, the vice director of International Affairs Mr. Du Jin Kun, The Associate Dean of ICB Dr. Feng Wei Zhe have also taken part in this meeting.
