Competition on Manufacturing Bridge and Wing of Ultralight Composite Material-HEU Wins Awards
The Fifth Competition on Manufacturing Bridge and Wing of Ultralight Composite Materials was held in the Shanghai Guang Da Exhibition Center from 29th – 30th October. Harbin Engineering University (HEU) won 3 awards. The awards were for: third place prize for poster design, fourth place prize for manufacturing carbon fiber bridge, and fourth place prize for manufacturing natural fiber bridge.
There were a total of 78 teams from 19 colleges and universities that took part in the three-day competition. The colleges and universities included: TongjiUniversity, TsinghuaUniversity, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, ShanghaiJiaotongUniversity, NorthwesternPolytechnicalUniversity, University of Washington, HEU, and others. As the only member of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) association from the educational institution in China, HEU was invited to participate in the competition and SAMPE composite exhibition.
SAMPE was founded in 1944. It is an international professional association which focuses on advanced composite materials. It is a high-level platform for exchanging ideas of high performance material and manufacturing, as well as sharing the manufacturing technologies of new material around the world.
